Local Hot Sauce Brand Wins Big at International Awards
Award number ten for Australian Buffalo Sauce, with a sweet new flavour and a heartfelt family story
A beloved local business, Australian Buffalo Sauce, has just scored its 10th award — this time all the way from the International Flavour Awards 2025 in the United States.
The winning sauce is a brand-new creation, developed by founder Leemet together with his mum Veronika, and named in her honour. The special blend features cherries, apples, and cayenne chilli — delivering a rich, fruity heat that’s already turning heads internationally.
“It’s got amazing medium heat and a great balance of flavour,” says Leemet. “But more than that, it’s something we created together. That makes this win even more special.”
The timing couldn’t be better. Veronika is about to celebrate her 60th birthday in a couple of weeks, and this award is the perfect early present.
“It means the world to us,” Leemet adds. “As a small, family-run business, recognition like this really shows we’re on the right path. It keeps us motivated to grow, create, and improve every day.”
Australian Buffalo Sauce has become known for its unique flavour combinations and homegrown Aussie flair. Their original and best-selling sauce — made with local mangoes, smoked garlic, and cayenne chilli — helped put them on the map.
“It’s real Aussie style, real Aussie flavours,” says Leemet. “Tropical and full of character — just like down under itself.”
As the small team celebrates this exciting milestone, one thing’s clear: this local hot sauce isn’t just heating up tastebuds — it’s heating up the world stage, too.
